Congratulations to Pastor Charley Watts.  Pastor Charlie was chosen by the MHES staff and community to represent the school as our Volunteer of the Year.  Pastor Charley works hard to support our school and students every day.  He is a familiar face in our cafeteria and our school, practicing and reinforcing our mission of showing "trust, understanding and respect" for our students and staff to see.   He is a member of our School Advisory Council, and helps us to implement many new ideas-including dressing up as a hippopatamus to help with our school-wide fundraiser.  Congratulations, Pastor Charley, and thanks for all you do.

Congratulations to Mrs. Garrett.  She was chosen by the MHES staff and community to represent our school as the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Garrett has worked at the school teaching sixth grade science and social studies, and now teaches first grade, where she serves as the Grade Level Chairperson.  She is an outstanding teacher and an outstanding choice.  Congratulations, Mrs. Garrett, and thank you for all you do!

The nomination process is now over.  Staff, students and community members are now invited to vote for a volunteer to represent our school as Volunteer of the Year.  Ballots can be found in our front office.  Voting can be done during regular school hours from today until Wednesday afternoon

Safety Patrol members helped MHES students and staff to recognize the contributions and sacrifices made by all veterans past and present with a special flag raising ceremony on Veterans' Day.  Students raised the flag, accompanied by "The Star Spangled Banner."  When the music ended and the flag was raised, a 'twenty-one gun salute' was performed with fireworks.  Thank you, veterans, and good job, Terriers!

Congratulations, Mr. Ford

Congratulations to Mr. Glenn Ford!  Mr. Ford was elected by the staff and community to represent Moore Haven Elementary School as our Support Person of the Year.  Mr. Ford is our In-School Suspension and Turn-Around Terrier Para-Professionall, but he does so much more.  He fills in for our school nurse when she is away, helps Mrs. Hall in the library, helps to decorate the school, and even worked our Haunted House on Halloween.  The Terrier Dog logo you see on our website and acroos the school was actually drawn by Mr. Ford when he was a student in Moore Haven.  Congratulation, Mr. Ford.  Thanks for all you do!
MHES started a new tradition of recognizing students outsatnding acheivements every nine weeks.  We held our first Nine Weeks Awards Ceremony in the Richie Building, and it was a great success.  Congratulations, Terriers!
Nominations are now open fore MHES Teacher of the Year.  You may nominate your favorite MHES teacher in the front office between now and Friday at 3:15 pm.
